This multi-institutional project brings together a team from the University of North Texas, Penn State University, and the University of Alabama to investigate how environmental DNA moves through stream systems at NSF NEON sites across the contiguous United States. We are using field experiments derived from nutrient spiraling and stream dynamics to compare the movement of spiked DNA in streams over time, as well as differences based on stream characteristics, seasonality, and DNA source material.
